Evoking the vitality of spring, the Spiral Green Tea takes its name from the tightly coiled shape of its leaves. Grown near Dongting Mountain by Lake Tai in Jiangsu, this tea thrives in a humid, foggy climate, resulting in a unique leaf shape, a delicate form, and a vibrant flavor.

Each kilogram requires 14,000 to 15,000 shoots, all hand-selected by workers trained to handle the fragile leaves with care. A single bruise or tear would diminish its character, so only the most skilled hands harvest it — making this one of the rarest and most labor-intensive teas in China, with an exquisite flavor profile.

Emperor Qianlong encountered the tea during his southern tours and added it to the imperial tribute list. Today, Royal Cathay sources its Supreme-grade leaves from a cooperative of fourth-generation farmers, who uphold the same standards: unbroken buds, uniform size, and vibrant emerald color. The result is a tea of extraordinary rarity: silky, floral, and layered with the fresh sweetness of spring orchids.
