Unveiling the world's finest tea's secrets

The Royal Cathay Legacy

From Imperial Sanctuary to Global Treasure

In the year 1759, when the grandeur of the inner court dazzled all who beheld it, reigning Emperor Qianlong saw fit to establish the Imperial Tea House within its cloistered chambers. Thus began a legacy that would blossom through centuries — a story told not only through tea, but through the evolving mark that bears its spirit...

ROYAL CATHAY LOGO EVOLUTION

A Timeless Journey of Heritage and Design

The original trademark

Inscribed in Emperor Qianlong’s own calligraphy, the mark of the Imperial Tea House carries an air of regality. It echoes the brand's deep-rooted connection to the royal court, a testament to Royal Cathay's unwavering commitment to upholding the finest tea traditions.

Imperial Stamp

A stamp of imperial approval by the grandson of Emperor Qianlong, Dao Guang, the intricate design captures the grandeur of the original tea house. It stands as a testament to Royal Cathay's relentless pursuit of excellence, rooted in the legacy of the emperor's esteemed lineage.

Imperial order

Embracing the world with open arms, the order proudly displays powerful dragons, symbolizing the noble lineage of the Fucha family. It signifies their diplomatic achievements and the brand's commitment to reaching beyond borders.

The path to commercialization

Under the visionary guidance of the Fucha family's seventh generation, Royal Cathay embarks on a transformative journey to expand its reach. This new chapter also reflects Dr. Len's innovative spirit, breathing fresh life into the brand's heritage and ensuring its continued legacy.

New Horizons

In 2023, the South River Group acquired Royal Cathay and redesigned its 1945 logo. Delicate intertwining forms a circular border around the empress’s necklace. The central character honors the original tea house, while two dragons embody the imperial order bestowed upon the Fucha family. Graceful leaves capture the essence of Royal Cathay’s exceptional teas.

Global refinement

Tea is a treasure of human civilization. We redefined Royal Cathay' s global presence to honor this legacy. We replaced "London" with "Since 1759" in our logo, symbolizing our deep historical roots.

This evolution reflects our unwavering commitment to timeless craftsmanship and the enduring art of fine tea.
